Widdles and Walks

Tuesday, Nov 15.  Started the day with a good phone call to Dr Amy in the USA via Skype.  It was nice to chat with her and get a few things discussed.

Nice sunrise again this am.  Also got some nice early morning shots.

One of the many kitty platforms.  Small shelters for food and water and to avoid rain.

Penny, a fourth year vet student, is visiting the park for two weeks before returning to finish her final year of school.  She spent the morning with us getting a tour of the clinic, meeting the dogs we are treating, and helping with health checks and deworming the new puppies.  We didn't have a lot of work, so we spent some time visiting.

After lunch we visited some of the very ill, declining dogs.  After consult with Dr Thai and Darrick, is was decided to let these lovely dogs go onto the next world.  It is not part of the Thai culture to euthanize animals, so this a very big deal.  But nobody wants these wonderful creatures to suffer, so the decision  was tough, but for the best.

Rest in peace Silver and Duke

I went with a group of volunteers to the River House to get all 9 dogs out for a walk.  I got lots of photos and a video... unfortunately, the video came out sideways, and this computer won't let me rotate it.  Darn.  Will just have to record another walk!

The house is up on stilts, see the dogs in the window upstairs?

Check out these awesome ramps, platforms and bridges for the dogs
to race around on ... under the house!

This beautiful pup did a lot of racing around... she did not want to be caught!

Group walk.

We are having a good time with the new volunteers.  I knew we would!
Off for the evening!
Good night!

  1. Awww, poor Duke - such a brave dog, but I think the right decision to let him go.
